How far north in to michigan do you suppose we'd need to go to find good ice to spend the day?

Lakes in Traverse city are not safe so I would guess the UP.

I follow Pilgrim Village Bait Shop up in Cadillac, MI on FB and they did not have good ice as of 12/17/17.

shouldnt have to go too far north of the boarder by mid to late next week. next weekend there should be lots of options all over michigan

thats what I was thinking. Im in Fort Wayne, was hoping for 2 hour or less travel one way ;D
