Tried out Independence, Kent, and Whitmore over the past few weeks.

Skunked, skunked, skunked.

A few small fish, nothing worth keeping.

Tried shallow and deep, top and bottom, wax worms and minnows, just can't find em.


I'm thinking about heading out to Lake St. Claire for the first time next weekend to try to hook some perch if the ice isn't melted.

Anyone have any advise on where to fish and general directions out there?

I went to Independence today got skunked there also,so me and a friend went to Mill lake about two hours
before sun down and caught about 25-30 gills and 1 crappie. A few of the gills were nice and the crappie
was 13-14",so not to bad for two hours on the ice.

I've never had such a bad run.

Thinking about hitting up Orchard but I don't want a ticket for parking at the church, a few years ago a cop called us off with his mega phone right after we got set up so we went to the launch and didn;t see a fish all day.

I might call the church and ask for permission to park there.
