Going to Cabelas in Owatonna then on to Faribault

Would like to ice fish Cedar Lake just outside of Faribault MN this Saturday the 16th.  Can anybody give me an ice report for this lake?  Other options nearby?  I am 3 hours south of Owatonna and we have no reliable walking ice around home.

you can either talk with some of the guys from the fishing department at cabelas or there is two small bait shops right in Faribault on the way to the lakes in that area. I lived down in Faribault for like 8 years but am now back up northwest of the twin cities. that would be your best bet. I would check mazaska, roberds, shield and hunt lake too.

Talked to my cousin this afternoon and he said guys are walking out from the North side of French.  He said there's still some open spots on the South side though.
