5.36 lbs. three perch @ Cascade Derby

5.36 lbs. total for three



2.04 lbs. for largest

hi its perchmastersonson
i won the Jr. Perch Division at the Cascade ice fishing derby. i got a weight of 5.36 lbs. that beat the weight of the adult catergory by a little more than half a pound. i think you guys are lucky i didn't enter the adult derby or i would've been takin' your money ;D.this was the first fishing tournament i've been in, so maybe it was just beginners luck ;)2. you better look out for next year as i will be 14 and i will be in it for 1st place $ ;D

The only thing better than a fisherman who tells fish stories is the one who talks fish trash, LOL.

Ummm.....but next year I'm in it for the perch as well and I'm not sure my intentions are to give you any of my $$$$, LOL

yes great job..... :tipup: When I saw that I was thinking no freak'n way, those are some huge perch, but as far as next year, I will be gunning for 1st since I got bumped the last 30 minutes of the contest, I will be refining my spot's for next year, so you will have some competition and I have no intention of giving you my money either but you have a great guide/teacher too get you close too the top, again those are some awesome fish, your the only one that beat my 1 9.6 perch....

Way to go little camper!!!!  The smile on your face is sure to last until next year...but watch out you just kicked a hornets nest for competition. ;D  I can hardly wait for next years round up. :thumbsup:  Yeee Hawwww!

 Great Fish and congrats to the Derby Winners, especially the Young guns. We were off poison for three days this last weekend. Met several Iceshanty members and we all fared about the same.  My biggest was 12".  We caught ours using 1" white Apex currly tails on one rig and a piece of worm with a red powerbait on another. My electronics broke on the first day within the first four hours.  I have a little plastic depth finder that you place on your rod and send it down. The water locks in and shows the depth but wont mark fish. We started in 25" FOW then moved to 12-15 FOW.  We caught ours at about 20" FOW.
Does anyone have any info on location and presentation? We will be back at Cascade this weekend for our annual "Man Trip". I will fly my Iceshanty Flag again, it is great because it attracts Iceshanty Members @). Hope to met some more folks this weekend.
