When I left it a few hours ago it was a mix of bare spots and a inch or two of snow. I guess enough snow for a shed not to much for 4 wheelers and ok for the draggers like me

Fished morning only off of North Shore.
I went to 32ft spot where I did well 2 weeks back.
Lucky enough to ice 7 wallys (smallest 14", largest 18") and 6 perch (not jumbos).
A few biters but most were caught sucking on the perch eye I was using for bait.
Dumped as many as caught due to light bite.
Most on #7 white glow jigging rap, a few on a huge yellow-prism pimple.
Great conditions for sled.
Strangely, all but one perch were male.

Go Pats!

fished mid lake yesterday and was a good eye bite in 25' with 1 ounce kastmaster doing most damage on eyes. Had to move from one hole because I finished my limit and just couldn't get anything but eyes to hit.
The perch have just been tough with only a dozen on spikes , kastmaster, blade bait and dead stick. Just keep switching and using blade or bigger spoon to draw them in. Water was little dirty where I was.

No current but big flash sometimes has a big benefit and slamming that slab on the bottom at times results in aggressive fish. Cuts down on short eyes at times too. It's not for many of the rods guys typically use on Oneida but both perch and eyes don't seem to mind heavy metal at times. Braided line and a stiffer than normal stick all good. I hate having to grub in deep water if I can stir them up. Sink traps are typically as long if not longer than the 1oz slab but they flutter farther and get hooked in my dead stick rod too often if I'm running one.

It’s a home made spoon that the old timers used back in the day ,
I to sometimes run big stuff like mcCully for perch , it’s like everything else sometimes it works and sometimes not , thinking out side the box doesn’t hurt

I have a few rolls of old lead solder if anyone wants to make up some. Need to look for the older P traps though as they work better than the new thinner stuff.

These in copper are killers but can't find them anymore. Same basic shape as the sink spoons but a bit smaller.

What is your biggest or biggest you have seen out of Oneida? I have two 14"ers that ironically caught same day no where near each other.  I could never break the 14" mark.

.  I just got off the ice. Seemed like anywhere from 2-8 inches or so of snow on the ice.  Great for sleds, prob not horrible for wheelers, tough for dragging on foot. Found some biters. It’ll get interesting after Wed. Forecast calling for 6+ of additional snow

That is where I got one of mine.  I love fishing that spot but some years not a fish to be found.

Sink Trap is nothing like what is depicted in pics in posts.

The spoons in these pics depict what guys used to make out of Sutton trolling spoons by adding lead solder to get them down...Swedish pimple made them obsolete somewhat...and modern day spoons like Kastmaster iced their existence...The Sink Trap that old timers on Oneida used was just that...and old school sink trap...like the steel ones that set in grandmas sink...they were cut and grounded...and then big hooks soldered in circle around bottom...with eyelet attached to top...it was a poachers device best used to rip and snag walleye and perch laying on bottom or swimming just above...
