Tongue River

I am wanting to get out and fish this weekend, but need to be sure of available ice.  Cant find a report any where on TRR.  Anybody been out there?

If I lived in Sheridan, I would have been out there like 50 times to check it.  I know somebody in that area is as fanatic as I am.  Help us out with a report, Iceneyes and I both solemnly swear to not catch all of the fish out of the lake. (we will leave all of the bullheads, lol).

The wyoming site has an ice report.  It said it was all iced up.  Nothing specific on how thick when I looked.

I was over at TRR yesterday and talked to the game warden.  there were a few guys out on the southeast end of the lake, and looks like the whole lake has at least some ice on it, but I'd be very wary of the methane pockets.

An Ice Fisherman is a man who spends cold days sitting on the ice doing nothing because his wife won't let him do it at home.

Ive got a couple of other options for this weekend, I think I might give TRR a little bit more freeze over time.  I would much rather fish in it in January than swim in it December :o

Night fishing for crappies works good.

We made a trip there last winter and it was good fishing, we all 4 of us caught our limit of crappie in about 2 hours. We used rat finkees and toadies fishing in about 10' to 14' FOW. Fishing over by the road not sure of the name of the location we were. Lots of structure where we were.

We always get our bigger walleyes at night. We usually check tipups every time we wake up with a spotlight. I'm hoping to make at least one trip there this year.

hey Trexzeus ive tried fishing all night on rattlesnake point. Let me tell ya after around 9:00 the bite vanished not even one fish on the vexlair. the next morning didnt bring great news either marked a few but nothing to reward me for freezing my ass off all night. I have a eskimo shelter but got crampy after the all night trip. Guess if you had a wooden shelter with some sleeping arrangments it may persuade me to try it again maybe a different spot. Well any way if you try it let me know how it panned out.  good luck and be safe      BIG WEST
