Title: Anyone around Freeport?

Moved to Freeport from Northern Minnesota a few years ago and have explored around during soft water in my kayaks. But I'm really itching to break thru the ice.
I've got a 4 blade Lazer, pop up fish house and more rods then I can count. And all the fixins. Just not sure where to check out that's safe in my area.
Any suggestions would be awesome. And I'm always lookin for a new fishin buddy.

I fish mainly Morrison-Rockwood State Park and a private pond i have access to. I'm not sure what waters are around you.

I lived in Freeport for one season years ago and did alright on gills at Lake Le-Aqua-Na, caught my first Illinois eye thru the ice there.
