Boy, does that bring back memories.
My dad used to use trout about 50 years ago on a remote lake up in Quebec.
Best bait on that particular lake.

we fished stripers in a lake in Ga.last year and used 6" to 8" rainbows for bait.BB

That would stink, I fished with my own bait all year. What a savings.

I feel sorry for you guys............ :o :o :o ;D

It might just drive more dealers to give it up. And push the price up (Part of the plan maybe?), Don't take my word for it though, just check with Vermont . :-\

Have they hired the certified bait police yet? Or just another on the long list of task's for the current warden service. Enforcement must be a nightmare. 8)

I'm not joking around dude. If one of those pike has vhs, well that would be it for catching your own. The trout for bait, well I thought that was funny untill I was told how many small trout get killed each year bye the state. Why couldn't you use them as bait, the scientist asked. They were raised in a clean hatchery and would make great bait. Kind of makes sense when you think about it. Still would feel odd using a 10" trout to catch a pike though. I think people would buy them, just to release them into the wild though. :)

or eat them

Pretty sure there was a guy at Sebago using 6" brookies for togue back back a couple weeks ago for the derby. Heard he had them just lying in a plastic bag. Assumption there, but who keeps 6" brookies in a plastic bag while fishing for togue? ???

I know a someone who has a camp on Kingsbury and goes up the little feeder brooks and grabs a few 4-6 inch natives before heading out, I've seen some of pictures of fish he gets out of there :o and he swears the splake can't leave em alone. But I don't really know him though, that well, ;)

Not yet, wardens job, I have not been checked yet this year, but you have to carry a receipt with the date and lake written on it,once the bait is on the lake you can't leave with it.got to have a bait box at every lake you fish or dump it.BB
