Ice on Moosehead

What do you need for traveling on Moosehead lake. Snowmobiles or 4 wheelers. Is there any slush?

You could call Moosehead Motorsports in Greenville Jct. Those guys are on the lake everyday. MIF&W has an office in Greenville, they would know.

Perfect today for sleds, I think what was crusty snow is going to get soft tonight. Should be fine for sleds. I believe an atv with chains could pick it's way around since there's generally not much snow depth except in drifts, but bring a sled if you have one.  Still big drifts along the bank in most places.

The snow is soft today, lots of puddles on the ice between the drifts. The ice surface is still hard. Either machine will be ok, still vote for the sled because of deep snow along shore.
