I had an Aqua Vu Scout with a 100' cable, on a lake with clear water we used it down to 85 feet and I would estimate an 8' circle that was quite clear, and about another 4' past that it was fuzzy.  In shallower water, around 20', you could see fish clear about 10' in any direction.   In "tea stained" northern waters, the distance was reduced to about 3' when 25' down, but that was just water clarity, can't help it.
