Boat question, net placement and tool holder
« on: Jun 25, 2020, 07:31 PM »
I know this isn’t all an ice fishing post, but it does connect to ice fishing a bit.

I have a boat that I just purchased for fishing, and it has a walk-through windshield. Do people still mount a net holder by the steering column when you have a walk-through windshield? If so is there a mount that can hold a net and also pliers/clipper/knife/other accessories that end up on the floor of the boat? How this ties to ice fishing is I saw the clam magnetic strip they can be used in an ice shelter or in the boat, and I am wondering if I don’t get the clam magnetic piece and mount that near the water side of the steering column, and mount a bit holder on the walk-through side of the steering column.

Any thoughts or ideas?

I use a pvc pipe and conduit clamps to hold the net near the steering column. As far a the tools I have them on lanyards hooked to my fishing bag never needed to find another place for them.
