Those look like white perch to me. White perch is actually an ocean fish that does well in freshwater. We get into them pretty heavy in the spring time in the upper chesapeake bay out from Port Deposit. When the shad and white perch run you can have a lot of fun in a days time.

dont know where you are in relation to lake michigan but that big ole lake has some of the biggest perch that i have seen.  I was a creel clerk for the INHS for a season and weighed and measured tons of perch and seen lots out on the IDNR and WDNR gill netters

I fish Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan. Both are loaded with Gobies and Zebra/Quagga Mussels. The Gobies compete with perch for food and the mussles filter all the goodies out of the water. Makes for some tough fishing around here. 20 years ago we could get jumbos all day long, now it's getting tough. Most of what I got last year was in the 8" range.

my favorites  this is the winner of last years IS tourny...  5 3/8ths inch   2 lbs caught in 22 Fow with a Nunna Bug in an Unknown lake   lol  These are my 2 boys 3 and 5 yrs old  in he pic!
