Southern Maine Trout Slam!
« on: Nov 18, 2007, 05:17 PM »
hit the river at 5:30AM.....fly rod guides were frozen up on the 3rd drift.......anyhoo.... for the first time ever I caught a rainbow, brookie, and brown....on the same fly....in the same river.....on the same day  ;D  I was pumped....hands were frozen and the river was moving fast.............I lost a rainbow that was steelhead like.....probably 22-24 inches or so.....jumped a bunch....great fight.....going to net it and the hook popped.....yelled to my buddy down stream and he saw me hunched over in dispair and started running up the river because I though I was hurt or something  :roflmao:

only took 2 pics because it was so friggin cold.....but here is the type of water I was fishing.....1-3 feet deep

here is a brown....what a day.....only ones there too

I am starting to think that i need to take the heavy grain of my fly rod and get some floating line.  I am getting very upset sitting here reading about everyone still fishing and me not.  Just waiting for ice !!!!

No they are gone I am going just right over the NH border.  Got to go farther down than that.  Stripers are not on my mind right now.

I have to agree with the Mac that river still holds my personal best Brown.  I also caught my first Atlantic out of that river fishing for bass.  You can also drive to the Conn river I dont know how far but that river to this day is my personal favorite for NE.

I guess I forgot about the Mac because of all the development.  If I was going to fish any river right now in hopes of catching a trout, I would go north of Franconia Notch. You know, where New Hampshire really begins!

Nice job bluefin, congrats. That looks like fun, but I'm too busy chasing critters this time of year.
