I learned how to fillet them on a fishing trip to canada.. then dip them in seasoned pancake batter(dry batter mix) then fry them till golden brown.. with some home made french fries..

OK I'll ask. How do you prepare pike for table fare? Only one's I know that eat them are eagles and crows. Not looking for the kill 'em all / great sport fish debate to break out....... again, just wondering if they are chowder or fillets

I fillet them out.. dip them in seasoned pancake mix, and fry in oil... after i fry the home-made french fries..

that fish was about an inch shorter than the little one..he needed help holding it up..

They are actually quite easy to de-bone, once you've done it a couple of times.
We use the big ones for chowder and bake the smaller ones if we keep any.
I'd love to come to Maine and catch pike like that!!
Biggest they get around here is about 12 - 15 lbs.
