Xmas Eve ice 2012. On the board!

Finally scratched the itch today!  Made it out to a 3 acre farm pond near Iowa City, had the place to myself.  Drilled about 50 holes, through 3" of clear, solid ice.  Didn't do too bad and man did it feel GOOD to be back out on the ice again.  Finally!  I'm guessing next weekend will be fair game for any of our local lakes from the I.C. to C.R. area.  Get after it fellas and good luck!

Nice! I was walking on a very small pond down by Wapello but the larger ponds were still in the 1-2" range. Gonna try some fishing as I drive up toward Mason City tomorrow...

Atleast hes putting some on ice !!! Good job .I was on ice yesterday and caught 38 gills kept 14 around 9" nothing great but it feels good being out there again ice was 3.5" not even scarey

I went out on Christmas Eve during the day as well, dead sea both places I looked, couldn't get anything on camera either with the silt being so heavy.

Also went out on X-mas caught a few keeper gills, but overall was slow. Ponds are low from the summer.
