Who's fishing this weekend???
« on: Jan 19, 2006, 10:41 AM »
I'll be heading out on Sunday to a little pickerel & perch pond in the Adk's, taking the kids out for some action and adventure...... Hope I remember the darn camera :-\.

Who else is heading out? I know there is still lots of ice here in the southern Adks.

I'm hoping, ok, praying that I can get out this weekend somewhere.  Might head up and see my Mainiac friends and chase the Crappies some.  Or just head north somewhere.  Gotta IceFish!!!

Good luck to everyone and everyone Please be SAFE.

Hoping to hit Saratoga Saturday morning before the front blows through.  If not Saratoga, I may try a bit of trout fishing in a quiet little pond.  My local walleye water is not looking real good right now..

Hey bishop, if its too scary for you to feel comfy with the kids, then it should also be considered for your own well being. You wouldnt want your kids getting hurt just as badly as they wouldnt want Dad getting hurt or worse. If your instincts are negative for the kids.......the same should hold true for you.....Dont be selfish, think of how worried they would also be if they saw your post. ??  :o  I agree with you, its too iffy out there in our neck of the woods.

Didn't get out last weekend so this weekend is a must for my sanity. Most of my usual area spots are liquid so it looks like Saratoga (assuming it's holding it's own) with the kid on Saturday and maybe headed north somewhere Sunday.

I am hoping to get out but it is not looking good. I haven't heard of any good ice near Oswego.  Sunday is out of the question.  Pitt vs Denver.  Look at my avatar if you aren't sure who I'll be rooting for.  Let me know if any of you know of safe ice within 1.5 hours of Oswego.  Thanks

That lake is really tough to figure out....  Freaking eye's on that lake are dinks this year for some reason. I know there's nice ones in there but man >:( it sucks.

i can take care of myself , kids on the other hand want to run around and arent always in sight, im not one of those dads that makes there kid sit in one spot and fish for 10 hours, when the ice is good and thick, they can come out and fish and play, until then they stay home and look at the pics when i get back.

I'll be sitting on 'Toga all day Saturday.  The wife has a baby shower (not our baby, her cousins) and I have the FREE PASS!  If you're in the area, meet me at my shanty!  My address is:

On the ice at Saratoga Lake

See you there!

hopefully i can get out somewhere this w/e. weather in wny has been unfavorable for making ice and the ice we do have is questionable.only the small lakes and ponds
will be doable. will definatly be using the buddy system if i do go.good luck to all and stay safe.

Is there anything north of Plattsburgh besides Canada?  I went to school there, I don't remember much else!

If there is no rain i will be fishing cassadaga lake this weekend. I checked and aside for the shore the ice looks decent. If it does rain and we lose safe ice i am up for suggestions within 2 hours of dunkirk fredonia area. I need to get on the ice. Went steelheading and all i could think of was cutting a hole somewhere last weekend.

I am trying to talk Caroga Kid into going up the road to the brownie pond for the day tomorrow. Then I will be jigging smelt on Lake Tanglefoot friday evening.  8)
Then out to the laker pond for some action on Saturday  ;)
I am going to get some stuff done around the house on Sunday (I have been procrastinating).
I have not decided Mondays trip but I will be on the hardwater somewhere (perhaps Sacandaga for some Pike and Eyes).Does anyone have a trip planned Monday?

NOT ME!  Just found out all my ice blew away the last 2 days. >:(  Unless I hear of anything going on north of Watertown I will probably be coyote hunting and doing chores.
