Marquette Harbor?

Anybody ever try ice fishing the Lower Harbor in Marquette?

I think it was 2014 I saw a few shack shops out there but never went to try for myself

I have fished it every year. But only a few spots freeze safely enough to walk on and only for a few hours, to a couple days at a time. It has froze for longer than a week a couple times. 2014 was good. People had snowmobiles and trucks out there in 1994. Depends on year really, the wind is dangerous out there. In 1994 my buddies went running for their lives after wind broke up the ice while they were fishing. They tip toed back to the break wall as fast as they could and watched their teepee shack and all their gear float out into the lake. 2 hours later they recovered all their gear just east of the Carp river where the ice chunk had blown into shore. Highly recommended to not fish there, fishing is slow and the ice will always be scetchy.
