Bass lake

Yesterday morning I duck hunted maxi. On my way back I went around Bass lake and couldn't not believe it was locked up from one end to the other ! Too bad we are gonna get another warm up and take that cap back off ! Hopefully soon

A couple buffies and one coot. Was a slow day sweetie slot of birds but they l wanted where we weren't . Then when we moved it was the oposite .

I know it seems like snow balls are the main duck killed at Maxi. I am hoping that coot was a mistake. Back in the 40's they used to kill them just for the gizzards.

Nope coot was not a mistake , you can shoot 15 per person per day

I am aware that they aren't ducks and you can kill them. Do you eat these? Never heard of anyone eating them. yuck

Sure do I don't kill things bings by accident , and I always eat what I kill . And there is plenty recipes for coots. And can I ask u what a coot is considered ?

That is kewl, thought you may of shot it when getting the buffies. I have a cookbook titled I couldn't eat that. All kind of recipies in it. Even one for eating a skunk. No thank you, not for me. Let me know how the coot tastes.

A1 and worstershire sause as a marinade on the grill mediam rare . Tastes pretty good wife loves it
