hali for deep water - color depends on lake
various bibbits for shallower water- usually reds or yellows
jigging raps when there are lots of little fish to work through to get to the bigger ones (rainbow is my go to color)
I'll keep my guns, freedom, and money. You can keep "The Change"

Lindy Rattl'n Flyer in gold or silver tip with head of a fresh minnow or wax worm.  Attracts pike and pickerel like crazy too, probably because the rattle.

only thing i find with the bucksot, is that sometimes the treble hooks can be more of a hinderence than a help, Thinking of either going to a single hook, or cutting one treble off next year. Any opinions?>

If it were me, I'd remove that treble hook, keep the split ring and attach a #4 hook Caty jig, it's what I do with my Swedish pimples and it's deadly on perch.

I use a Hali chain hooked directly to the Buckshot and a Eagle Claw egg hook. It works great for me and I can tip it with everything, Shiners, Waxies or the Berkley Gulp baits.

I get the chains from Proscandinavia, they are a lot stronger then the " hali " chains. The tourney pros over there swear by them and they're right, I've landed lakers over 5 lbs on them !!

I like the 3/8 oz, it works well in both deep and shallow water for me.

Thanks for the help...when they have about 6 size weights you can spend a bunch of money getting 3 or 4 styles in 3 or 4 weights. Will order some tomorrow. @) @)

That's what is so awesome about this sport we all love. Because of the huge rise in the popularity of ice fishing, and the availibility of all the new and different tackle, it's not a problem getting rid of any cash that we have kicking around, even cash that we don't have !!  :pinch: :roflmao:

I just use a bare painted lead bibbit on 6 pound test connected by a quick clip. I pinch off the barbs so I don't have to handle the fish. Fast cycle means more fish when I get on a school. I buy some of the already painted bibbits at sport shops and paint my own at other times since I have some unpinted blanks. Color really makes a difference and I have quite a few that I always try until I get the positive bite. If they start to pick at it instead of taking it hard I switch to another color. Over the years I have developed a kind of pattern that has produced depending on the depth and water clarity where I am fishing. As always the chartreuse, green, orange, silver, yellow and white colors are usually effective. At other times the dark colors like brown or purple will produce especially if they are on snail beds.
