Title: Leadville area question
Post by: rus.t.shakleford on Mar 06, 2018, 02:00 PM
Thinking of fishing the leadville area this weekend. Trying to decide between Turquoise, twin lakes, and clear creek reservoir...does anyone have any advice on which lake would be best? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve never iced twin lakes but I have iced turquoise and clear creek several times at turquoise fish off the dam 80 feet was good for lakers and bows were right under ice at clear creek reservoir just go off the boat ramp 15-20 fow you should get into the trout there is also Kokanee salmon they will be in the deep water 40-45 fow good luck

I am also going to be in the area this weekend and was looking for any tips on icing Twins. I'm not looking for specific spots or anything, but maybe a depth range to target for lakers?

Thanks in advance.

Dont think you need to worry about ice thickness at Turq.  Chest deep snow is more of a problem.
