Title: Predictions ?

Anyone have their predictions on when we get some ice ?
It's usually about Christmas week when we get good tip-up ice in my area .
Only about 20 weeks to go !!!

Way things have been around me the last couple years...wont be till after the first of the year :'(

My first trip last year was December 10th, so I will predict November 30 this year.

1st or 2nd week in Dec. i hope to be on the annual "Ice over the 'eyes" with my buddys. That's usually the kick off weekend. One of my 2 favorite of the year. 1st. "Ice over 'eyes", and Daytona 500 weekend! :clap:

I'm praying for the 1st week in DEC. but earlier would be better. Nothing like 1st ice blue bill and crappy fishin. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

1st week of dec. here. Maybe not the best lake to fish but it takes the edge off ;D

Usually not till after muzleloader season. So about the 15th of December.

Think the only thing thats 10 in thick and black on July 30th is asphalt on a major highway    :D

Would be wonderful to have ice by Thanksgiving as we do every five years or so, but I guess it won't be till the third week in December. Just after the Muzzle-loader season.

Bring on the early freeze! I was on 5" of black ice on Dec. 7th last year.

Depends - if the temps keep droppin like they have and we get a "normal" winter - i could be on the ice as early as 3rd wk in november - it was 35 degrees this morning here when i woke up. Much colder then the past couple years in august.

Saturday, November 24th.  The saturday after Thanksgiving is almost a sure bet around here.  I've only missed it once in 20 years.

here on Lake Superior it was mid January last year, so I'm going with Jan. 10th on the big lake, Dec. 28th inland.

I really am afraid to predict. I'll say December 28 will be the first good ice around here, but watch, it'll be 50 and raining until the middle of January! :'(

NOAA's future forcast models are showing above average tempatures for Wisconsin, but not like last year.  I figure I'll be on the ice December 15th, on one of the smaller lakes, and have good ice until March.

Last year I made it out Dec 5 & 6 then it went backwards and I didn't get out until about the 1st of Feb. but put in about a full 30 days in a row to make up for it.  Its long over due for some good old cold all winter.  So I say the weatherman don't know and its gonna be a long cold one for a change.  I Hope at least.
