Went out 8/8/05 in the morning to conservation club for about 2 hours. It was only about 2" thick there and thinner in some spots. Fishing was pretty slow with a lot of bait being caught all arount. I wouldnt go out there for a few more days yet (or weeks) Someone on another BB said they put thier foot through out there. Checked in on Black lake and it looked pretty well iced over but didnt have anyone out there fishing and no tracks so i didnt venture out there. Also head reports of wolf lake starting to get close but have not heard of anyone fishing there either yet.

I want to thank Gibby:) for giving me a good starting point with Angler and Archery in Muskegon. Keith was very helpful at the store with the local customs. I'll be in Muskegon for the week will try Conservation Club and Snug Harbor soon. By the way around 430 pm the fisherman were hitting a few fish on Conservantion Club with about 5" of ice.
Thanks again for the visting PA icefisherman.

Checked White Late this morning. Is ice over but nobody fishing yet on narrows or Lyons Den. I didn't check ice depth. But river mouth is frozen over too. Got to believe anytime shortly, will be setting on a bucket.

Duckmaster, you are welcome. Seeing you here for a week, White Lake is a short drive from Muskegon. Lyons Den is also a good spot for pan fish. If you site fish you can get some nice one.

Have not been over to Blue or Wolf yet.

So much ice and so little time.

Gibby:)

Checked the ice at the end of mccracken on muskegon lake by shoreline bait and tackle on 12/11/05. it was about 2" and a bit slushy on top so i didnt venture out. Have a friend who went to wolf lake last night said it ranged from an ince to 3 inches out there and there were a few guys but nothing real good biting

Went to conservation club yesterday for most of the day. Got about a dozen nice gills on waxworms. Threw back a lot of little ones. The trick was (and took me half the day to figure out) using a thin wire hook because it penetrates the mouth a lot easier in that shallow water and with the light biting fish. I got away from the teardrops.
