Headed North!!!!
« on: Jan 01, 2017, 06:45 PM »
Just booked my 8 day stay at a crappy hotel right on Little Bay de Noc. Only a couple weeks away. Getting pretty excited. Wish me luck on those giant eyes they got in there.
Anyone else taking a nice destination trip somewhere?
Anyone been there?

I was up there last year for 1 day, fished for 24 hours straight.  We had some unexpected weather come in, so we were not mobile.  Caught nothing, but learned a few things about the area.  I would check out the UP Michigan thread on this site, people are talking about LBDN.  Good luck up there, it's a big area with bigger fish.

Yeah I've had my eye on that. Got some areas picked out and with 8 days to fish, the quad, and map chip I'm optimistic. If all goes well I'll have some good pics for y'all.

.      Can a quad get around there? I have one and was wondering the same.

Reports of some out recently. No idea on access but I'll figure it out. Really hoping ice holds steady or improves from now to the 15th.

When I lived in the U.P. I would take a trip or two to LBDN every season. Had some good luck and had some bad luck. When you head up I'd suggest stopping in at Bayview bait and tackle and talk to Chris. He knows his stuff out on the bay and he's always happy to give ya information.  Good luck up there.

If you don't have it already, get the navionics app on your phone.  Well worth the 10 bucks it costs.  Also, look at google maps of the area.  It will show you the weed lines pretty clearly.

My cellular carrier is AT&T, which has great service in the area.
