there has been hundreds of snowmobiles riding the lake for the past couple week the drag strip by lanzis has even been plowed for snowmobiles as long as you know the lake and where the usual soft spots are you will be fine just gotta use your head a little bit

Hopefully we will be able to get the wheelers out there. If not it's going to be a long walk. Fished it from year one when we had to put the stickers on the tip-ups. Great tournament! always a great time at the Sacandaga.See everone there!!

The cold front has gone through,Temps will be falling, quote just gotta use your head a little bit, That's were I was going with what I said. It looks like in 11 days the challenge will be on. I will have to stop by World famous you know who's bait shop,And get some of those specially trained Walleye Baits, that I win with. Now that the cold weather is coming back, everyone can take a chill pill, everyone has been wound up tighter than Dicks hat band. Good luck, be safe,I will be there with bells on :icefish:

yup we ended up parking our shanty on shore for a few days. ice is very soft. buddy of mine is out near deer island and they are cutting 7" or so. couple nights of cold weather will lock things up tight again and then its fish on! tight lines everyone.

Heard reports that the walleye was last seen near the Broadalbin boat launch over the weekend. If you are the lucky one to catch him, please remember to report your catch at 1-800-IGOT HIM. By reporting your catch, the authorities will know to put a replacement walleye in the lake so we can all enjoy another shot at this great fishery. (Yes I'm bored ;D) Things should be shaping up with the cold weather rolling in as we speak!

well the lake is holding good and gaining ice by the minute. bring creepers for your feet, and chains for the wheelers. glare ice, 1" of white and 6" of black. took the wheeler out today and pulled the shanty out as well. no fish today, so we'll be back at it tomorrow.

Me and my brother are heading up this weekend to do some scouting with the 4 wheeler are there any spots we should steer clear of with the quad, other than the pressure ridges? Thanks in advance for any info fellas:) and good luck next weekend$$$

there really isn't much to scout. very little structure other than old tree stumps. best bet would be to park at lanzis and drive 3/4 of the way across the lake and find the deep water channels. I have fished in the vicinity and caught winning eyes in the 1st and 3rd years. there may be a pressure ridge out of there, just keep an eye on things and spud or auger holes every so often. we marked 7-8" where our shanty is located but there are also spots where it drops down to 4". also heard that they need to have 9" by the Northville bridge in order to have the contest, did anyone else hear that? fish on! tight lines every one.

here is one of the many treasures that the "dead sea" rewards you with at time to time. measured 18-1/2" caught in 4fow on a heavy/medium shiner.

Where is this store and what time is the seminar. Always looking for a little advice and could always use a deal on some equipment.
