nice, about how much does your shack weigh? looking to bring ours out there next week out of the boat launch. any spots of concern in that area when you went out? thanks in advance.

We are expecting temps in the 50s sat and sun here in Ct. I would think you guys are going to be in the 40s for a few days. the snow on the lake acts as an insulator of cold and heat. a few days in the 40s is not going to melt all the ice it took half a month to make. Next monday things are going back to cold weather
One of my friends from Virginia is coming with me to the Challenge, he has never even walked on ice,let alone ice fished. Its going to be alot of fun. I am counting the days

The Ice on the lake was iffy at best before the high temps,Yes a few guys are fishing,at least 4 atv's have gone in.I'm sure there is lots of water on top.by next weekend it should be all good to go. Some guys will tell you its ok and some will tell you its not ready. The stories about the atv's makes it not ready for me.All the more Walleye's I catch during the Challenge. better to be safe than sorry

Was on mayfield this morning and it gained another 2" since I fished it last week so despite the arms temps the lakes should be ok with the colder air coming in this week.

Good to hear the ice seems to be holding on,Anywhere on the lake were water flows in should be avoided. One more warm day to go.then back to normal.Outlook is to have cold temps into 1st week in feb

we crossed a bunch of spots like this today and one was about 2' wide and id was solid black ice and in most cases was thicker than the areas covered by white ice.

I know but if you tried to walk across these ice chunks you would have had problems as they were all floating seperatly just barley got across them with the shack

I agree it dangerous, but we walked over 2 or 3 of these where we were and they were solid. now the pressure ridge on the other hand was fun.
