Slick Jigs
« on: Feb 28, 2011, 05:07 PM »
Has anyone tried these jigs.? I've used them a couple of times and did ok. One a Perch came up and smacked it and the same day a nice Walleye took it also.
Alot of movement in the jig ... Take a look on youtube ..The only 2 problems are paint coming off from traveling in the sled and if your using 2 holes... It will go far enough and grab your other line.

I have a smaller version, I forget who made em.  I use with spikes for perch & pans, they do ok, seem to attract more fish than they catch though.  For me it's been a draw em in, drop the rod & grab another goto.

I use them a bit.  Had some luck on the eyes with them earlier this year.  Seemed like where I was fishing some days they wanted them and others they would come up to it and then swim off.  One thing that I have found with them is that they really twist up your line, maybe a small ball bearing swivel would help with that.

Yup that's the smaller version I used, forgot they were fiska though, but makes sense I've been known to have a few in the box  ::)

They do but I don't believe that anyone sells them in the US.   I do know a guy who might have some though

You can also check @ River Rat Bait/tackle.    He had a good stash of Fiska's jigs left over from last winter and there may be some of those in there if he still has any left.

I bought those off a derelict drunk guy with chili all over his shirt. The waitress at the bar said he hadn't shut up all night and ate like the Mexican army on maneuvers. I have no idea who he was.  ;D

I liked the edible bowl :roflmao:  I need to get back to the Bayside before they take down the winter menu and those awesome chili bowls !    Might hit Long Pond woth the boys on Saturday and will definitely stop for grub on the way back !

I guard those Fiskas like my children.I know where there just might be a few of those jigs hiding in a deep dark corner of a big jig box  ;) ;)

They don't have the same stuff anymore.  Some of their jigs are weight forward design so you can get a good "dive", but not a swim.  Seemingly you have to bribe someone to get some.
