Well I went out today and checked the ice today. Found a solid 3 inches and drove the truck out on the ice and it held just fine. Nothing today....not even a wind flag.

I was out last night. I landed 13 rainbows, 74 cusk, 4 haddock, 1 wolf fish, and a 15' sturgeon.

Not a bad night overall.

I'm just disappointed that you let all those hard sides in the background beat you out there. They were probably brought out yesterday or the day before on 1 1/2 - 2 " of ice.

Well. I just had my first time on the ice. I just walked out about 20 feet on a small pond here in goffstown. There was 2.5-3 solid inches of black ice!

If there's ice in Goffstown, NH......There's definitely ice up north. I have to work tomorrow but I wanna here that somebody went fishing!

It is here! I stood on a pond lastnight. Didnt venture out more than a few feet cuz it was dark but I did the big rock test and it stayed on top! First ice is always a dangerous time so stay safe and be smart but if you look for it I def. think you can find fishable ice on smaller ponds.

Hello all. It won't be long now before we're out there for another season. Hope all is well and everyone stays safe this year. Some small ponds are skimmed over in s. nh and i will be checking a local pond to see how thick the ice is and report back to all. It locks up pretty quick!! Hope to get together with all of u this season for some good times. shaun

Checked a local honeyhole in SNH and there was a skimcoat in the coves and open water everywhere else. We need the wind to shutoff and then we'll be cookin with gas baby but the water temps are dropping so once it goes its going to go. Hope this helps. shaun

If you want early ice fishing you better do it today. Heavy rains tomorrow are goingto wipe out alot of ice. We can never really win. We just get teased.

its not going to rain everywhere.....the north country is going to get snow and and a mix......that will help keep the ice on the lake and ponds up there.......however, you are right about down here.....it should kill the ice......phillips pond in sandown has a skim, but its only a quarter inch.......unless you are olive oil its probably not too safe......
