We have ice even in SW CT. This was just taken around 3pm, not open at all on this pond. I didn't check the thickness but it held up to the rock test. The problem is all week is supposed to be in the 40s  :(

I broke through sheet ice today and had ice in the guides most of the day. Fish we did get today...most were glued to brush piles.

Open water?

Report from the way into work today:

east twin some ice starting to form around the eastern tip of the island and some in the northern part of the lake, skim at best.

west twin- covered almost completely (easy to tell because we got a dusting today and the lake looked snow covered).  the ice at the edges was over 1 inch but just over.  Hopefully ill have a report from a smaller body of water tomorrow on my day off!
