Kinda wondering if we are going to get ice this year in Buffalo/ western NY. We fish small boat harbor, Silver lake and hoping to do a tourny next month on Sodus Bay but this weather is kind of depressing. Lake is still in the high 30's so we need a few weeks of sub freezing temps before she even starts to freeze over. Anybody know any other spots around the Buffalo area to hit once we do get a few inches of ice? The SBH proved to be decent for smelt and perch last year but we didn't really check anything else out. I have heard that Beaver Island has a decent spot as well. Any new local spots would be appreciated. Looking for something I can jump out on and cut a few holes to jig in a breeze. Not a fan of trekking miles onto the lake(which nobody will be able to do this year it looks) and falling through the ice... Thanks for the help and I'll try to post when we go out and where we hit.
