IGL Guide Recommendations
« on: Feb 10, 2018, 06:10 PM »
I'm kicking the tires on a late winter, one day, trip up north for perch and have never ice fished the IGL region. Does anyone have recommendations for guides/accommodations? Might go to SD as well but would like to try one of the IGL area lakes sometime and it looks like we'll hold on to good ice up there into March.

I have heard good reviews about Ryan Hale.

There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the ice looking like an idiot.

I ended up going with Shawn Haley for two half days this past week while I was up there. Angling Adventures is the biz name and Shawn did an excellent job of putting me on some nice fish. No big numbers, but quality fish that included yellows, perch, crappie, and gills...he did catch and release one walleye himself too. Reasonably priced and was always drilling/searching for active fish, plus Shawn is also a fun guy to fish with...recommended!
