Not much. Fished till around 9:30 this morning. A few perch and one nice crappie. Saw a couple of others pull up a few small bluegill. Still well over 12" of ice. No problem getting on...but that may change by tomorrow. I'm done for the season.

how was the shore ice? I fished upper lake ice still 16" shore was bad in spots. The rain made a lot of water on top . Left the ice about 530 shore was still good.

Shore ice was fine. I walked out from the boat launch.

Don't forget to visit your private launch site and check for tire ruts and sled tracks across the grass to the lake. Now that the snow is gone and the ground has thawed you can rake the bad spots and drop some grass seed. I am not going to make this a community effort because I have tried in the past and only one or two guys show up and some years no one. I visit my sites at my leisure and do a little work when I have time. If you want to keep your access sites, please repair them if needed it really works.

Please lets use this thread for chit chat about Chautauqua lake ice fishing and only post the ice and fishing reports on the report and conditions thread this year. We hear this same comment every year but we get people asking questions on the report and conditions thread such as how is the fishing or ice conditions, how deep is the snow on the lake, can I use a machine on the ice now or is anyone going fishing this weekend and etc and etc. Those comments and or questions are not reports and should be asked on this Chautauqua BS thread. If there is clutter on the reports and conditions thread there is a chance of getting the thread locked. Please report correctly and happy and safe ice fishing this year.

driving to work today along 86 showed no open water from bridge down to Celeron and could see no open water above the bridge looking toward Long Point. If we make it through this weekend next week it looks real good fro making ice. Hope to be on somewhere the weekend of the 16/17th of Jan.

Had to chase two youngsters off the ice tonight. Went for a ride to look at the ice and noticed a couple of people out on the ice over by the brick bldg in celeron. Drove over to them and it's a pair of kids out about 200 yds. After a couple of good yells got them to come to shore. Didn't yell at them but gave them a stern warning on just what could have happened. Scared me to think that there wasn't a parent around. Please keep an eye out the next few weeks.

My brother in law sent me a picture today of Burtis Bay and it looks pretty locked up . Like said previously hopefully we get through this weekend and get some lower temps to lock it better

Saw a guy fishing off burtiss today. He was about 200 yards out. It was tempting to join him. Just was 2 sketchy for me yet. He looked a lot skinnier than me. Haha.

there looks to be a inch or two of water on top of what's left of the ice. If it makes it through tomorrow it should set up nicely.....barring 20 inches of snow.

In back of my house in stow and across to bemus there is 3 1/2 -4" very clear ice... Shore is a little sketchy, but I doubt the ice is going anywhere anytime soon.

I was on Burtis on Thursday. It was about 4 inches close to shore, 3-3.5 a few hundred yards out. As I kept going, I eventually hit 2.5. I don't know Chautauqua very well, so I didn't push my luck. Caught a bunch of perch. Some were respectable.
