Ya that is B.S. people leaving garbage on the ice. Leaving perch on the ice is being a real jerk. If you want to  help out the lake by taking some of the dink perch. Catch them and take them home and throw in the garbage or in your garden . NOT ON THE ICE. THINK PEOPLE THINK!!!!!!!!!!
Been on  this lake for 50 years plus... never seen it this baad with little perches.  i for one hate em, would'nt even consider fishing for them.  it does no good to throw them back and there hard to fillet.  it's the cycle of life.  feed the birds and coyotes

Thats  Hangers vehicle... You should have confronted him.  He's a nice man.  Very cool headed.
I agree. A nice friendly conversation with him about where to park and how to do it properly would go a long way.

::)Any updates on the shore ice conditions.  I see that the channel at Celeron is open, but Burtis still looks frozen.  Anyone been on the ice at Mayville lately?   How about Maple Springs?

Anyone going to finish Walleye season Friday at Dewittville? With the previous warmup I just don't want to be on the ice alone!
Thanks, Duke

I personally don't think people should kill any living thing unless they plan to consume them like I do daily. I wouldn't recommend throwing them in your garbage. Cats, yotes, dogs and even rats can infest your home or worse.

Thank you. If everyone took a stand and policed the lake we wouldn't have reduced access to the critical spots where we know the fish are. I'm not the smartest man but I know that killing and discarding of gods creatures isn't in my blood or any of my brothern on is.com.
Please take the time to be thankful for all that we have and respect what gracious gift we've gotten from a higher power than any of us could imagine.

just off the ice at Mayville...7-8 '' of good ice. Water was murkey from the melt, but could still fish with the camera. Very slick without creepers. The snow was blowing around and not really accumulating.

Was at Long Point and Mayville yesterday, ice is still 6-8 inches thick, water murky due to melt and LOTS of wind. I caught perch and gills at both spots, one really nice 12" perch at Long Point and a couple more keepers at Mayville. While fishing Mayville I was catching dinks one after another and while pulling one up something big grabbed on and broke me off. I never got a look at it and only had it on for maybe 30 secs.

Not happy with them either.  Just don't be surprised when there is a crowd in that spot next year.  Look at what happened to the bell tower 2 years ago.
