Post by: sticksandstring on Dec 16, 2009, 02:11 PM
I am wondering how thick the ice was on any of the Coeur d'Alene lakes?

Not sure which lakes your talking about.  Upper Twin, Round and Kelso have about 7"  Lower Twin and Cocolalla have about 5".  But its warming up and raining so we are going through a little melt down.  Hope the colder temps come back soon.

How about sportsmans?  Anyone been by there?  I think I might give Cocolalla a try today.

I was out on Cocolalla today.  Caught a bunch of small perch and one nice bass.  No rainbows today.  There were quite a few people out there.  Any updates on sportsman (Hayden), I am ready for pike fishing.  Drove out there today and saw a couple groups on the lake.  Maybe I will head out there tomorrow, I got plenty of bait from today.  Blacksheep says they are starting to bite on Hayden in the afternoon.

Was out on the north end of Hayden this past Monday & Tuesday (Sportsmans Park) and the pike fishing was real slow. There were a good 12 - 15 folks out there covering a large area and it appears that the lack of action was all over. Good news is that there is plenty of great ice and the lack of snow makes moving around quite easy.
