cam distance from lure

How close is to close?dont want to get tangled every time i hook a fish.currently about 5 ft away and visibility goes away at dark.13 ft of water

I keep my lure just in sight different depending on clarity.
All fishermen are liars except for you and me,and sometimes I wonder about you!

Stump:  Are you using a camera with IR (infrared) or SR (spectral response).  Before buying my camera I checked with Aqua Vu and they indicated the difference between the two is IR can be used in low light conditons but not after dark.  SR can be used after dark.  If you have IR maybe this is why you have no visibility at night.
