Morning all,

Rain has stopped, the sun is out and there's a beautiful fresh breeze out of the west finally clearing out the humidity    Looks like more of the same for at least another day or two  ;D  Think mowing is on tap for this afternoon  @)

Have a good day at work or play. Stay safe.

Good Morning Everyone,
68* and a little less humidity this am, high of 78 on the Hill today.

Bud...any news on your local store opening up soon?
Wally...hoping this nicer weather sticks around for a little while...any plans for Erie yet?
I-45...Happy be-lated Birthday to your daughter!!
H2...best of luck today, hope the walleyes are hungry!
Jeff...the fashions have been just as hot as the weather latelyl.... ;D.
Marv...hope the tree jobs are wrapped up and a trip to the shack is on your planner today!

Someone suggested we work 4 (10hr.) days and have every Friday off with Wednesdays readings. That received a standing ovation and loud applause! Unfortunately due to payroll, we were told it would not be allowed without paying overtime. That was a good suggestion anyway!     Yesterday's word of the day was " mutiny " .   ;D
Last concrete pour of the week coming at 6, and then we'll be heading to the Mansion to start laying out the wall now that everything is dried up enough.
  Cawfee's on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

               Good morning Bud, Eddie, ER's,
It's 67* here also and clear sky, a nice less humid morning, good sleeping weather, then why aren't I sleeping?  ::)
Bud.........Is ot really that bad of a job that managers quit? ???
Eddie.......4 10's is what we did but it wasn't prevailing wage. I did work for a construction company once and the boss gave us
the option to work 4 10's on a prevailing wage job and agree to straight time, it worked out great until a disgruntled employee got fired
and turned him to the Labor board, the fine was big and he had to pay all of us all the overtime back one year.
Wally........We didn't get any rain here, I ended up watering my lawn and garden, everything still green and growing.
Marv.........I hope everything is well at the Shack and the fishing went well! Waiting for more Bear Porn. lol :woot:
I-45..........I hope you hear about the job soon, hang in there!
I have to drive about 160 miles to Stuart Airport this afternoon to pick up my brother, he could have flown into Albany but going to
Stuart he could get a non stop flight. The drive will give us some alone time together.
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out on the water!

Morning all,

IW.....safe travels & enjoy the visit

IFF....sounds like Camping World didn't plan the whole buy out thing very well

Eddie....too bad the 4 tens won't work, definitely the way to go during the summer months  :-\

IF45....happy birthday wishes to your daughter

Got the lawn squared away yesterday  ;)   MrWW's been working on the area around the new pole barn, had 8 loads of dirt dumped off, finally got 2/3s of it raked & seeded after mowing yesterday  :flex:  should finish it up today   Lake Erie trip still up in the air, weather forecast changes by the minute it seems, one time it looks like a go, next time I check it's either too windy or too big a chance of t-storms  :%$#!:  hopefully by Monday the guessers will figure it out  :woot:

Have a good Friday at work or play. Stay safe.

Same old weather. Mid 80's with no real drop in temps over night.

Eddie The road commission over at my home county has been working 4/10's during the summer at straight time for years. They are union so there has to be a way out of paying over time. They must have a signed agreement to the straight time.

IW Enjoy the alone time with your brother on the way home from the airport. I am sure that both of you will enjoy it.

IFF No compensation for having to travel that far to help them out is a crock. Do they not realize that good help is hard to find these days. Even Mickeyd's can not find enough burger flippers for their stores.

ww That is a lot of dirt to spread by hand. I have to level out the old garden spot after I rototilled it  so I can get it planted to grass. I might wait to seed it until  the hopefully fall rains come. I will cover it with straw to hold the moisture.

TT....most of the work was done with the tractor  ;)2  still a lot of work getting it raked, seeded and straw covered  :flex:  just glad the temps & humidity
dropped a little  @)
our town crew (unionized) also works 4 10s all summer, no ot involved, agree there must be something in writing about it being straight time

Good afternoon everyone

What a hot muggy day in the north woods. The temp is close to 90 and the air is thick.

There were a few more videos which I will share when we get home Sunday. Mom and the kids made a return bet the old boar has gone nocturnal. I sure hope he decides to come visit earlier come Sept.

I am off to drag trails back by my deer stand. Hope you are all doing well on this Friday.

Stay safe!

Good evening ,a little nicer day highs only in mid eighties and not as humid. I got over to the house today and mowed the lawn still have to use weed wacker in a few spots. Meeting with my sister and real estate agent at house tomorrow so will go over early and do some cleaning believe the agent wants to take some photos to use when house is listed.
IFF hope things improve for Campers World/Gander Outdoors and your store truly does open and your not stuck driving around state to different stores or having to search for new job.
Icefisher-45 belated birthday greetings to your daughter. Has your phone rung yet with good news about job.
Eddie maybe down the road when your union contract is up an agreement can be reached to work 4 ten hour shifts during Summer months.
Ice Wanderer sorry your had to travel down my way to pick up your brother surprised there are no direct flights  into Albany . Hope you had an uneventful journey to and from the airport.
Hunts2long may you have a safe trip to and back from Rochester.
Wallyworld may all of your husband's hard work yield a beautiful lawn by the pole barn. Hope Mother Nature allows a trip to Erie in near future.
Tom Turkey may your area see some needed rain. Local farmers must be getting concerned about crop yield.
Whopper Stopper not the best day to be dragging trails in the woods, hope the girls had a pitcher of crown and coke or a few beers waiting  when you got back to the shack. Looking forward to Sunday evening /Monday morning and our weekly bait station footage. The old boar probably wants no part of a sow with cubs .

A safe and pleasant evening to all. Best to those fishing this weekend.

Good Morning Everyone,
Welcome to the weekend!  62* with a light breeze this am, high of 70 today with some rain and possible thunder storms moving in late morning.

Steve...good luck today with the real estate agent, glad things are now coming together for you and your sister, awesome!      Doubt our union would enter into an agreement about the 4 10's, too many squeaky wheels to deal with....but anything is possible I guess.
Marv...looking forward to the new videos! Hope you get a break with that weather over the weekend.
Tom...believe our county workers here in my neck of the woods work the 4 10hr. days as well. Guessing in our situation, its probably got more to do with amending the constitution and by-laws than anything else. That and the fact management wants a crew working daily throughout the week, figuring out who would or wouldn't have Fridays off would probably raise another issue. Throw in a few sick days, vacations, or Dr.'s appointments etc. along the way, could be a real headache I guess.
Wally...sounds like the pole barn area is about wrapped up, nice!!     Looks like some wet weather on and off for the next few days in this area anyway. Maybe you can sneak a few local trips in during the week?
Jeff..hope you had a safe ride to and from the airport yesterday! Hope your brother is doing well, have a great family get together!

Getting the lawn cut before the rain falls is on top of the list this am.
We started the wall at the Mansion yesterday. New hours starting Monday for the Mansion crew, 7-3:30.... :%$#!:
  Cawfee's brewing...hope everyone has a great weekend!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

                Good morning Eddie, ER's,
58* and mostly clear skies here on my hill, I hope the 20% chance of showers is for real, that's not enough to worry about. ::)
Marv......I can't wait to see you bear porn, hopefully the boar will return in the day light hours. ???
Tom.......Our town workers use to work 4 10's as well but the previous supervisor was afraid that they would have to pay overtime,
even though they agreed to straight time. I think she thought there was a need of workers present 5 days a week. Come winter they put their
                time in. :flex:
Steve.....I hope your Real Estate agent can get your house sold for you soon. ???
Wally......How big of a pole barn did you have built? the weather forecast looks good to get grass growing.
My brothers flight was delayed an hour and a half because of thunderstorms in Florida, but it wasn't to bad. He said he'd fly into
Albany next time, lets see that will be another 10 years. lol :roflmao: We didn't get here till 10:30. stayed up talking an hour.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or out doing!

65* this morning expecting upper 80's for several days.  No movement on my store yet.  They seem content on having our Gander crew manning the registers.  Think a couple they hired that we trained have already moved on.  So much for getting enough coverage with part time employees.  At this point thinking it will be November/December if at all.  The waiting game continues.  I better think of changing the food for the hummingbirds before they turn their noises up and move on too.  Have a great day all.

Good evening everyone

What a hot ugly day in the north woods. I hung out until noon working on a couple of things at the shack and then decided enough was enough. The girls spent their day kayaking and from what I heard the fishing was pretty slow. I will get caught up on every ones entries tonight or tomorrow, but I wanted to get the bear porn posted. Things were a little slower than they have been. I sure hope they continue to hang around as we are now less than a month from the bear opener.

always fun watching the crazy kids....

This poor guy seems to be attracting a bunch of bees. I felt sorry for him.

The Fisher was back a few times.

And old "Swing Set" is still coming but only after dark. I sure hope eventually he starts showing up during day light.

Hope you all have an excellent evening  Stay safe!

Morning all,

WS.....those cubs getting cuter by the minute  ;D  sorry you had to deal with that awful weather  :(  the drop in humidity here has been a much welcome change

IW....the pole barn is 24 x 30 , built late last November

we needed a LOT of dirt to build up the ground around it, so we waited for the town to start digging ditches and got 8 dump truck loads for free  ;)  glad your brother arrived safely, how long is he here for  ???

H2L....hope the get together was a good time  :)

Eddie.....well, at least you'll get a little extra shut eye mornings  :-\  looks like a day or two on Oneida might be possible this week  ;) seems like forever since the boat's been out  ::)

IFF.....guess Camping World bit off more than they could chew   are you planning on sticking it out or are you going to start looking for something else  ???

MrC.....glad the house is finally moving forward   hope there are no more roadblocks in the way  :)

Spent the day yesterday at hunting camp mowing and putting up trail cameras  @)  sure would have been nice if it had stopped raining or at least been a light rain   :%$#!:  we (MrWW, his brother & I) decided we're here let's just get it done, 4 hours later we were wet and cold, but done  :flex:  :cookoo: got to watch this guy enjoy hunting all the mice I stirred up while mowing

Have a good day whatever your plans. Stay safe.

Had fun at the picnic yesterday. Didn't get home until almost 10 last night. The weather was great, heard it rained here on and off most of the day. 62 and cloudy this morning.

I fished on Friday. 10 walleyes and 6 bass. If I ate fish, I wouldn't have to cook them. The water temp out in the lake is 81 degrees. No wonder the fish aren't real active.

Not a lot planned for today. Have a good one...h2l

Good Morning Wally, H2, Morning Everyone,
A damp and humid 64* this am, high of 75 today with a 50% chance of showers late morning/afternoon. Never did get the lawn mowed yesterday, rain started early and kept falling most of the day here.

Wally...thats a great shot of the fox, and nice job on the pole barn! That's awesome the town helped out with the dirt and free delivery's!!     Hope we get a peak of some nice bucks on the camera's soon....best of luck with the fishing this week!
Steve...congratulation s on the house, best of luck with a quick sale..must be a big weight off your shoulders!
Not real happy about the later start, but at least school hasn't started yet and no buses to deal with at the moment.  ;D
Marv...great video's again!   Hope " Old Swingset " changes his ways soon for you as well...what do you estimate his weight at?  Those cubs are a trip to watch, can't wait to show them to my granddaughter later! Thanks again for sharing, great stuff!
Bud...can't help but wonder what the delay is all about with opening that new store...waiting to see how the others are doing first maybe? Hope you're getting a few walleyes along the way....
H2...glad everyone had a great time, awesome, and no rain there!   Great job on the catching, especially with the water temps, wow!
Jeff...hope the weather we had here missed you yesterday and a great time was had by all!

My granddaughter was up and about, and we've been watching and re-watching the bear cubs for the last half hour or so...lol.  As soon as it ends, I get..." Pop Pop, more bears! "  :roflmao:
Cawfee's still on if anyone's needs one....
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning Everyone

Another "Thick" 90 on tap today. The air is very heavy with lingering smoke from all the CA wild fires.

WW can't wait to see what your cameras have on them when you check. It sure makes it fun knowing what you all share the woods with :woot:

Eddie not sure what "Swing Set" would weigh in at. He maybe 400, hopefully I will be able to put him on the scale some day  ;D

IW hope the visit is going well  Enjoy your time.

Not much going on here today. I have a few bullets to load for the range tomorrow that's about it.

Eddie here is one more video for your granddaughter. It's not of the cubs but hopefully she will like it.

Have an excellent Sunday  Stay safe.

Good morning Coffee Crew,  Eddie, I did remember to take a dead battery in so not having the core charge.  Picked up the bigger 31 size for my replacement.  Fishing has been put on hold, at least for now.  Working the full time hours puts a dent in fishing but the money is good.  Can give some thought to having some days off, to get in a visit with my therapist  ;D, Want to take a drive, check out some forest ground where one can pull off the road for a spot to park a camping trailer, and not have camp fees.  Was just watching the one daily hummingbird visitor, can almost set a watch by when it comes by.

My store was built like some of the later GM's all the same floor plan/size, so now wondering if they have already figured out space allotments for displays or still on the drawing board, I know with the addition of having trailers brought inside that needs to be reconfigured.  Guess the big profits are in the RV's and maybe in the service end with $135 an hour labor rates ? ??? ??? really ?  Although I'm sure that will not be happening at my location.

Has anyone here googled up the "Men's brains Vs Women's brains"  ??? ??? cracked me up. ;D  I am about to take a look at my "nothing" box  ;D

Have an enjoyable day all.

Good day everyone ,cloudy skies might see more rain before the day is over thankfully temperature not that bad currently.
Wallyworld nice you could get dirt for free from the town to use with pole barn landscaping project. Hope everyone has dried out from yesterday. Thank you for the fox photo.
Hunts 2long happy the weather in western NY. was good for the picnic  and was a good day with family. Congratulations on the fish that is some warm water. Just curious what is the big attraction for your wife and daughter with Wegmans.
IFF will have to check out the brain difference . Hope your store is open by Thanksgiving if not earlier.
Whopper  Stopper whatever flavor is in the frosting smeared on tree seems to be popular with the bears and other wildlife.
Eddie do a search for website of Orphaned Wildlife center in Otisville ,NY. think they have videos of their bears on the site. They should keep your grand daughter entertained for a while. Just tell her people seen with the bears have special relationship and to never approach a bear in the wild or stick hands through bars at zoo.
I see Ice Wanderer posted a daily joke ,guessing he and his brother and nephew might have gone out for breakfast and to see some of the area sights.

Have a good and safe Sunday. Best to all fishing.

                    Good afternoon ER's,
I started a post this morning, I got up late 8:15 and everyone was up just as I was going to finish and my wife asked me to start me to cook
some bacon. I should have saved what I had written but it seem like I was being rushed! ::)
Wally........Nice job on the barn, I was able to get fill from my town when I was doing my back yard to level it off! :flex:
Marv.........Again great video, my nephews son really got a kick out of them.
Bud..........I hope it all works out for the store and you don't do all this work and then they don't open! ???
H2L..........When I worked out in western NY Wegmans was the place to go for a good sub.
Eddie........Sorry for the later starts but you can't wake the gov. ::)
They party was a huge success, everyone had a great time and the food excellent. I cooked Country style ribs and made a macaroni sald that
was a recipe of our mothers, my brother was flabbergasted that I had it. The rain held off it was cloudy but that was fine it wasn't to hot! :flex:
                    Here are some pictures.

That's my brother with MW and my wife

Just some of the family, i put up a 10'x20' enclosure e=in case it rained.

                    A bunch more getting together.

Cloudy and 66* this am, high of 76 with a chance of afternoon rain today.

Jeff...glad the rains held off for your party but you were ready! Bet that macaroni salad was a hit for sure, well done!!    Thanks for sharing the photo's, glad everyone had a great time!     Yes...you're probably right about the Governor... ;D
Steve...thanks for the info and site, will pull that up today and take a look.
Bud...well, glad you're getting plenty of hours in anyway, hope you can get out on the water soon.  Wondering if there's anyplace for your trailer in the Granby area?
Marv...another great video, nice job frosting up the bark and making them work for it!   Got a question for you...will you be allowed to carry a side arm for back up during the archery season?

First full day at the Mansion coming up, guessing it won't be so bad....good group of guys anyway.
Will check in at break and see how you're all doing....cawfee's on!

                Good morning Eddie, ER's,
It's 66* here on my hill a little humid this morning. This weeks weather call for rain and thunder showers again. ::)
Eddie........Good luck at the mansion today, I hope you can get the day in. ???
Bud..........I'm sure you'll find a nice spot, is it for hunting or just a camping trip?
Not much going on here, we might take a ride around and show my brother a few places. I did take him over to MW's
to show him and his son MW's firewood operation, they were impressed. I take my brother to the airport this evening.
I hope everyone has a good Monday either at work or out fishing or whatever!

Good Morning Eddie, IW! Good Morning Everyone

75 heading to another 90. Supposedly tomorrow will be a little better. For people with allergies, the weeds are off the charts.

Eddie not sure about the side arm question. When it comes to the shack and location, coupled with some of the riff raff around there, I usually am carrying. Hope you and the crew have a safe week

IW nice pictures  Sounds like an excellent time.

WW hope you are all caught up and ready for more lake time

I am off for my walk and then heading to the gun range at 9.

Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe.

Good Morning. Looks like more showers predicted.
I am sure the wife likes Wegmans because she grew up in Rochester  and we lived there for 31 years. The daughter likes their sushi. Where we live now most of the stores are about the size of Wegmans veggie section. All that and we didn't leave the reunion until late so didn't stop as there wasn't one on the way home without going an hour out of our way.
Have a good day....h2l

Good afternoon cloudy skies with light wind and rain currently if weather guessers are correct will be this way for most of the week.
Ice Wanderer glad the weather allowed full use of your yard and everyone did not have to huddle under enclosure. Hope you passed on macaroni salad recipe to your brother. Ditto Wallyworld's words about safe flight home for your brother did he fly out of Albany or the two of you have to travel back down to my part of NY.
Eddie had same thoughts about the Governor  and anyone else who resides  in the mansion as IW . If this is the same grand daughter who likes the old Red Rose tea chimpanzee commercial sure she will enjoy videos from wildlife center.
Whopper Stopper hope you had a good morning walk and your hand loaded bullets are preforming well at the gun range.
Wallyworld may you get a fishing trip in this week. If you get a few days of rain may it not wash away the recent landscaping around the pole barn.
Hunts2long thank for the explanation on Wegmans ,sorry there was no time for your wife and daughter to visit one of their stores during your trip. Since you now live in a section of NY. that see a seasonal population flux assume most of the supermarkets will not expand in size if possible of build new stores.
Icefisher-45 may your phone ring today with good news about the job.

Have a good and safe day everyone.

Good Morning Everyone,
Rainiing and 66* this am, looks like it will be around most of the day today, high of 76.

Steve...I did take a look at that site briefly yesterday, will spend more time on it today. Couldn't see the movies with this IPad, but will try with my phone. Thanks again, and yes, same granddaughter who couldnt get enough of the Red Rose Tea monkey's...lol.
Marv...always better safe than sorry...
Wally...good weather to bake one of those pies today?
Jeff...hope you had safe travels to and from the airport, glad you and your brother for to spend some together!

We got thrown a curve ball yesterday at the Mansion job. It seems they revised the prints and increased the size of 3 columns that are in it. Only problem was, nobody told us about it and the footing wasn't set up for it, lol. Seems to be par for the course with every job we do there, rarely does anything go smoothly.
Will find out today what they want to do to correct the problem, but doubtful much will be done with the weather...hopefully they've got something inside lined up.
  Cawfee's on....
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

                    Good morning Eddie, ER's,
It's 66* and light rain is falling here on my hill, with rain in the forecast for most of the week, the last time I checked. ::)
Eddie........I hope you can get some inside work today. How can they miss that on the blueprints, oh yeah it's the State. :roflmao:
Marv.........Did you ever consider getting in to pistol competition? ???
Wally.........Here the guessers say 50% of rain for the rest of the week, I hope you can get out on the water sometime!
Steve........ My brother left from Stuart Airport, only because it's the only place that had non stop flights for him. :o
I hope everyone has a nice Tuesday either at work or at play.

                    IW
