Siege why don’t you drive out for yourself and check, literally every post you have made is asking people to scout the lakes for you while offering nothing of value to this forum.

haha coming from a lurker as his first post  ::) thanks for all that you have "offered" to this forum!

just got off a smaller lake up here and only 4-5" ice, was surprised.  with the warm temps coming i'd be cautious down south.

I was out last week and the ice was 9” with a good snow cover for walking. Was out on Tuesday of this week and still 9” with no snow cover , very slippery. Drilled from one side to other and all good ice .

Report will be appreciated.

I know I'm waiting another couple weeks with the cool down until I head out, but I'll also have kids with me.

Didn’t make it out to Buffalo got a late start and decided to go to Regina Beach yesterday AND it’s a desert. Drilled probably 40-50 holes from 8’ out to 15’ saw nothing on the camera and only a couple small marks on the flasher that didn’t stick around. There’s a good 6-8” of solid ice. Next weekend I may take the extra time and get out to a different lake.

Thought I should re-post this map I made last year about the hazards of the lake, entry points and landmark names.

Always looking for more to add to it.

16 to 18 inches at Loneys. Lots of trucks and shacks.

Very few perch. I only saw ~ 4 in 2 hours. However 2 or 3 large walleye ~ 5 pounders and about an 8 lb pike on my camera screen.

The water seems clearer than other years. Good luck.
When I'm done drillin' - all that's left is an 8 inch wide, moist, dark hole that smells fishy......

14" ice on the trout pond.  No bites after 2 hours.

14" ice on the lake at Parkview, lots of cracks and bangs as vehicles move around.

No fish yet, 20 mins in.

Caught nothing after 2 hours.

Had some decent fishing today, 30 or so perch over 4 and a half hours and probably 10 of them were of decent size. I've been hearing things about a parasite in the fish that looks like little black dots in the meat if anyone has anymore information on those little parasites I'd love to here some more about it.

Those black spots are a parasitic trematode larval cyst. They are found in panfish, pike and other aquatic species. These parasites do no harm to the fish who are simply one of a number of hosts in the organism's life cycle. Cooking the fish destroys the larvae, and even if you ate the perch raw, you would not be affected by these parasites. Google Michigan State University and "What are those spots in my fish?" for more information.

I've eaten plenty like this and they taste as good as all the rest.
