Rod opinions?
« on: Oct 09, 2016, 04:46 PM »
Selections of Ice Rods in my area is limited. Looking at the The Snitch 29in Quick Action Tip #8 Tackle.
Good/Bad? What's your take on this rod? Plan is to pair it with an inline reel.

It's a great rod as far as something you can buy off the shelf. Has a decent noodle tip that is great for panfish bites and enough backbone for when you get into anything bigger. If I was to use a rod off the shelf it would be a no. 8 snitch, for $30 its tough to beat. Obviously if you're wanting something more than this rod, you're going to have to start looking into custom built rods.

I bought a snitch last year and fell in love with it.  I ended up buying 2 more and my buddy bought a couple after he checked mine out.  Great rod for the money.  I probably will pick up another one this year.

I did pick one up and paired it with No 8 inline reel. Looking forward to the ice.

i like 13 fishing products too. i have been favoring their wicked 19 inch ultra light and have at least 6 of them and use a few different reels with them and i like the frabill titanium strike indicators for when the bite is poor. you can see them breath on it.
their reel seats are some what long so you have to be careful if you have certain reels like the okuma brand doesn't pair with it with out some modifying. i used some velcro under the reel to make them work, but i only use a few of those reels now.

I like the no.8 snitch in 25" but the rod has the ugliest  bend in it.only the 1st 3 "of the tip bend the rest of the rod stays straight to the handle.

That's because it's an extra fast action quick tip not a slow action noodle...its a good off the shelf rid for the price, I had one and used it a couple seasons before beuilding my own custom rods
