Otter Wild Lodge
« on: Dec 11, 2013, 08:42 PM »
Well I ordered the Otter wild lodge today. Reeds has them for $499. I have always wanted an Otter but always thought they were just to far out of what I wanted to spend. It has a thermal top but I would like to find the white diamond thermal material I hear about and have it put in during the next off season. Anybody else out there have one? Whats your likes and dislikes?
 Thanks
  Matt

Is it the T600?
http://www.reedssports.com/Product/product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=25436

Looks like the price dropped to 409.

Otters are good flip over. But 120lbs (empty) is just to much to drag by hand/lift into the car every trip.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

I haven't had many dealing with them. I do know that when ordering on the web, just because they show an item in stock, it doesn't mean anything. There was a long thread about them last year.

I will call them tomorrow. I would think they would credit me back since I have not even got the shack yet. The lodge on Otters site says that it is 96 lbs not 120 lbs. Thanks for the heads up.

This has the weight at 120lbs, which seems right. I just got one, and it is huge. It will only be pulled by my wheeler.

The story I got from reeds is they bought all the remaining units from Otter, and will be selling them at a discount.

I'm going to make a Smitty sled for mine for using it around home. I bought it for going north so I will be pulling it with a sled or a wheeler. Fontona19 did u see they marked them down to $409 yesterday? I would call them they will give u a $90 gift card. I was lucky and mine didn't ship till today so I was able to get the $90 off the price.

I think I'll pass now.  It dropped to $409 but last night the price was BOTH $409 & $459 !  Today it's $459 ( It makes me wonder if they had a lot of phone calls & got greedy raising the price).

Yeah, when I checked it out earlier it was $459. I still paid more than that. They said they are going to have someone call me on Monday to talk about a gift card or something. We will see. I am glad you posted this though.

Got my 650 today, assembled it and went fishing. Sweet set up and for the weight pulls easily by hand, about half as hard as my Eskimo 3 man did...Cover leaves something to be desired will live with it but will get replaced by a Cabelas one when time comes, wish I had kept it off my old sled when it left....

They are great shacks. I will be replacing my X2 with a lodge down the road. I would like to get the bench for better use with the kids and wife.

Thats great man. I am looking forward to putting mine on ice for the first time here shortly. I have been using my recon lately, and its a drag.

I also wanted to thank you. I got $100 back from Reed's, thanks to your heads up.

That's sweet! $100 in free money is like a Christmas bonus! Lol I hope to have mine together this weekend. We r getting a little bit of a warm up here but we have a lot of snow on the ice so I hopping it will melt the snow so we can get some thicker ice. We only have around 3",now.
