I called to get the answering machine. He says that he does in fact have shiners. Can anyone confirm this? Just want to make sure it is not an old message. He does not open till Friday so want to be sure as I would like to count on him for bait for this coming weekend.

Did you try Morses Sporting goods in Hillsboro. They have an honor system tank for the early risers.

Yes they may or may not have them in. He wasn't exactly sure when he would be getting shinners in. Within the next two weeks he said.

I was at the Tackle Shack in Newbury this past saturday. Theyvhave bait. Its a bit of a ride from Deering.

Gonna build a couple of minnow traps and set them out. Have a few spots in mind. We'll see how I do. I just can't drive 1 hr plus to get bait. Who knows maybe I'll do great and save my self a bunch of money this year. Here's to wishful thinking. :-)

I got shiners at LJ two weekends ago. I stopped at Morse's that Saturday, and they weren't planning on shiners for two weeks, but might change that with the weather.

Just got bait. Very happy. $4 a dozen for small to med shiners. Plenty of mealies, spikes etc.... also had large shiners for $7

Can't wait for tomorrow. :-)
