Is this place owned by Alan Nute of AJ’s bait?

That’s not a common name that I know of! Funny to have 2 unrelated people in the same business and the same uncommon name!

It may be funny, but it's absolutely true!
No relation what so ever.

Where are you guys going that's got good ice? I'm on the seacoast (Dover/Portsmouth) and I'm dying to get fishing but what little ice we had got smoked by this rain. Thanks for any tips.

Spoke with the lady that owns the place on Saturday. She said she would be posting when they have bait fish on their Facebook page.

As of today (12/1) we still don't have shiners. We will hear from our supplier on Monday (12/3) about whether or not we will be getting them next week. Until they get bait, I don't have bait.

We will have shiners (medium and large) in either Thursday or Friday night this week. Starting Saturday we will move to winter hours (6-3 every day, closed Wednesdays).

we just bought an $8 minnow trap and dropped it in a small holding pond with dog food. We have about 200 shiners over 3 days. Worth a try!

if I didn't trap my own bait, it would be worth it to make a trip up there just to get bait!

Nutes smelts did the trick this weekend. Huge and healthy... Butttttt... 3pm close on a Friday? You're killing me!
How's the ice they all ask? "I’ll tell you what, you can get a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a bull’s butt, but I’d rather take the butcher’s word for it."

We have heard this from quite a few people and are looking into a solution. With the change in ownership came a change in man power; for the moment it's a one man band. We are glad the bait is still doing the trick though. The one thing we didn't want to ever do is sell crap bait.

it seems like opening at 6 am to 10 am and 3pm to 8 pm or something along those lines would be better
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

Totally understand the man power issue, but lots of guys coming up 16 after 3pm would be hitting your place up until at least 5 or 6 pm.  I for one would be , been going to Nutes for over 20 plus yrs.
Good luck hopefully you’ll get some help
