Tommy Cod?
« on: Dec 30, 2010, 07:26 PM »
Seriously......what do you all think about tommies as bait?  What species are they good for?  Seems to me based on the size they should be great for Crappie as some of them as smaller that the hook!
I know browns like em!

caught two browns the other day with them an 26 crappie. I have 12doz right now. I think they are some of the best bait.

I used to use them for pickerel when I was younger. Very rugged fish, and kept real well from what I remember.

how do you catch tommy's?

They're easy if you find the right spot, slow moving tidal water.

Have always used them for pickeral/Bass, but one pond in particular I can slay the brookies with the tommies. They are rugged.
