i was going to take my little girl out tom. where i was going to go there is 5-6" of ice. im haveing a hard time if it realy safe to take her. what to do?

We fished 6'' ice all day today and the fella i fished with had his little girl,she is 5 i think, and caught her first gamefish today,a 15'' brookie.If you have 6'' you are pleanty safe just drill a hole and make sure you have at least 3'' of good clear ice,The crud on top and the slush can be nerve racking.have fun fishing with your little one tommrow,good luck.

Sounds like it is going to be a nice day to be out on the ice,Take your little girl she will have a blast.If the ice gets sketchy,leave early.have a nice day.LLS

Bring some rope and a boat cushion, might make you feel safer.

Wish I weighed as much as kid, I could fish a lot more early ice spots!
