« on: Jan 20, 2014, 12:17 PM »
Wanna target walleye locally I've tried Saratoga and sacandaga and but never can seem to get on them ! Just got a marcum this year so that should help out now !
Need done tips to good lakes around Albany will drive some distance , but lakes or island on lakes ? Not asking for honey holes just tips ! What to use ?? What to set the tip ups with , what to jig with , how deep will I find them ? Anything will help cause it seems walleye has been the only fish to evade me on ice !!!!

I will tell you what I think I know about the lakes.it is info. hope it helps
1-SARATOGA lake[what was netted] is good for crappies, gills, eyes were below
perch,NOTE IT IS stocked with eyes.and has been from about 1997 with 4in
to the tune of about- 8,600,000 per year[food for somebody]
2-great sacandaga lake-[what was netted] the eyes are the 2nd highest the
1-first being bass--eyes most run 12 to 19in. about same as saratoga
with this said, try and find some one that knows, and will take you out
with them,i have caught the them on points on the east shoreline
south of Northville
hope this helps

When it's colder try the the locks . Or the hudson river  in back bays and estuaries that freeze .I have a spot further south. But it's not safe .

You want Walleyes, go to Oneida Lake for a couple of days, that's fun.  If you want KILLER Walleyes go to the Bay of Quinte,on the Canadian side of Lake Ontario, they start about 8lbs.
