lights for tip-ups?
« on: Dec 10, 2010, 03:50 PM »
We are talking about tip-ups at night for waldo. I've never used lights on my tip-ups. I'd like your suggestions. What lights do you like? Why do you like that one? where do I get them?

i put reflective tape on all my flags, one flash of the spot light and they glow like crazy.  i have never seen lights, tried glow sticks but way to cold and didn't work.

Frabill sells some and they work good. I have had mine for a few years and still haven't had to replace the batteries.

all depends on the type of tipups you have. the frabill ones are great. When I was back in highschool we made lights out of a christmas bulb, some wire  and a 9v battery.

We are fishing an assortment of Polar tip ups. Most of them are "origionals".

I made some that I saw a guy making on youtube. They are made using a window alarm, and led lights. They only light up with the flag goes off. They work really well, and only cost about $2.50 to produce.

I like the little shinners by Frabil.  They are small and light and snap right onto your tip ups.  They are really bright when they go off too.  I think I paid around $9.99 per light.  They sell Frabil tip ups that come with it though as well and the package deal is cheaper...
