Title: Worlds best tartar sauce
Post by: augopher on Apr 13, 2013, 04:29 PM
Call me crazy, but don't call me late for dinner, especially if there is Mose's Tarter Sauce involved.   Anyone remember the old Hot Fish Shop in Winona, MN?  Well, this is the family recipe and it is killer!  You can still get it locally in SE Minnesota or in LaCrosse, WI area, or online at http://www.mosestartarsauce.com/history.shtml.

Tasty indeed!   Any other favorites out there?

Sure do remember!!! Parents used to take me there. Here's a sauce that's pretty easy to make....I use 3 Tbsps Miracle Whip or Mayo, your choice, to 1 tsp creamy horseradish sauce, a sprinkle of onion powder and garlic, pinch of salt, and a tsp of dill relish.
Mix well. Enough for two people, and no waste.  ;D

So what is this ? A recipe? Or is it just a plug for your product?

It's not a "plug" for my product.   I'm just providing a link to what I think is a good product.  If you're not interested, feel free to ignore this post.  I'm simply an auditor who loves fishing and likes the taste of tartar sauce.  Forgive me for living.  Jeez!

Hot Fish Shop was the bomb.

I'll have to try some next time up to Dresbach Dam 16.00 to ship a 4-5 dollar item is too much. Anyone got a update for Dressbach. I'm guessing it is time.

Lake Link is the best bet for up to date info on Dresbach, but it's been ice free for a while now.  I think I may have been the last guy on the ice out there this year and that was 2 weeks ago.

Sorry.  I loved the story.  It's only that I was expecting something else.

The Hot Fish Shop was awesome.  I missed it went it closed in Winona.  Good to know the tartar sauce is available.  Thanks for the info.
