Coming from CT
« on: Jan 10, 2019, 07:25 PM »
Hey guys... we have zero ice in CT and I want to take the trip up to VT on saturday. Can anyone recommend a spot with safe ice where I could do some perch fishing. Is Harriman Reservoir frozen over? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Haven’t heard anything about Harriman.  Not sure if there are any bait shops down that way to call for info.  Reel Angler in Manchester might have some info

Is anyone familiar with fishing the Brattleboro area? I am looking for some water that holds perch coming from CT. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks guys!

It’s supposed to be colder than a polar bear’s cornhole this weekend.

If you are going for perch you want to move around a lot and drill tons of holes. Given the upcoming cold snap, you would want to set up a shanty and bring a heater if you except to spend the day on the ice.

Thank you all for the tips. I got my shanty and heater ready. Ive never fished Retreat Meadows before. It also doesn’t have the depths on Navionics. Does anyone have advice on where to head for perch there?

Never fished there but have driven by a ton.  It’s not all that big of a place. If it’s decent weather there will be a ton of people on it. High of maybe 15 tomorrow?  Maybe not so many. If it’s empty just look where previous hole were drilled.  Be safe
