Zelma Reservoir 2017-2018
« on: Nov 06, 2017, 07:17 AM »
Anyone in that neck of the woods check out the ice thickness so far?  Let's have a fun and safe season!
Get outside.  It does a body and mind good!

Thinking about taking a trip to Zelma.  Any information regarding access, ice thickness, popular locations, etc?

I would also be curious for any reports on ice thickness, access and how the lake is currently holding up against the weather.   Thanks in advance and stay safe and good luck out on the ice everyone!

Had luck near the Pumphouse at the beginning of December..
Went out a few times since and the ice is about 15" + now.

However the fishing is veryyyy slow. 4+ hrs with only marking a few and no bites.
Anyone else have any luck?? :-\

Been thinking about heading out there for the first time.  What is the access like?

Can you drive, walk out or do you need a snowmobile or ATV?

Ice is about 30" thick, there's access from the boat launch and beside the old pump house but both have snow that's blown in.  Fishing was slow, caught 1 small walleye and saw a few suckers on camera.  A local lost a small jack on a tip up but said its the most action he's seen out there in days.
