Spreader/dropper hooks
« on: Nov 14, 2011, 09:33 AM »
Decided to experiment today...

Being a little older...harder to see and a little less nimble with the fingers...I thought of this. Took a #8 bait hook, ran a string type (Thill?) bobber stop up the line. Then threaded the line through eye of hook and back through again. Wrapped line around shank 3 times and slid bobber stop over line wrapped shank, slid plastic sleeve off and pulled ends of string tight and voila...hook in place, nice and tight. Trimmed ends of string but left a little for a bit of "flash". Plan on using this method on my smelt rigs but may also work for perch and crappie.
