Hey Reel Trouble thanks for the update on Oakley (the pics really say it all).  I was actually planning to go there on Sunday and now know to try my luck elsewhere.

Oakley Res. Report?  I heard through the grapevine that the ice had set back up on the West end where Trapper Creek comes in (6-7inches).  Does anyone know if this is true?

I am headed there tomorrow to see for myself and hopefully get a line wet. Will let you know how it looks.

If all else fails look at the upper end of goose creek we went by there today and had to stop to take a look didn't have a spud but tire iron reviled some fish able ice, just watch the edges

Fished Oakley Reservoir this afternoon. 7 to 8 inches of ice where I was fishing. There is also a large spot with open water and there was even one boat out there fishing. Looks like plenty of fishable ice though. I fished for about and hour and a half and caught 8 fish that averaged 14-16 inches. Not a bad day!  ;D

Nice work Fooshnix.  Sounds like a good day to me, for only fishing an hour and a half.  I think I'm going to try and make it up there within the week (hopefully).  Thanks for the report!

Out of the 14 we caught 4 were hooked on the jaw jacker. the day before had several hits on them and no hookups.  I went in and got some larger jigs with probably size 8 hooks and it helped a lot there is a learning curve to them for sure

Those are some nice looking fish!!! A buddy and I went out there this morning and landed 37 trout and one walleye. Where were you fishing this last weekend? We were fishing in that cove by the open water where trapper creek dumps in. Headed back there in the morning.

Thats a great  day . How big was the walleye ? we were on the upper end where goose creek dumps in I returned the pm with directions how to get there. Is that spot still open out in the center or has it all caped over now ?  Good luck i hope you have another great day Here is a link to a  map http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Oakley,+ID&daddr=Goose+Creek+Rd&hl=en&ll=42.222416,-113.910713&spn=0.068392,0.110378&sll=42.140496,-113.976974&sspn=0.136961,0.220757&geocode=Fa2UhAIdmEw2-SlVq2svcxGqgDGbQK1JT3vuSg%3BFX6YggId4MM1-Q&vpsrc=6&gl=us&mra=dme&mrsp=1&sz=12&t=m&z=13

The Walleye was about 15 inches long. There is still a large spot of open water out in the middle. Some guys were out there fishing it from the bank today and I talked to one group that limited out so it must have been okay fishing open water.
