round valley rarely gets safe ice its open warter most of the winter the trout bite from shore all winter use a slip sinker to get it out a good cast use shinners-power bait-meal worm marshmellow combows ive gotten fish to 24 in from shore

if the main cove freezes up i may give it a try once or twice...better be a cold winter for that to happen.

The year before last there was safe ice on Round Valley ... but it has to be a very cold .. and i mean sub zero ... cold front for at least a week to 10 days to even get that lake thinking about safe ice.  But it does happen.

i was out thier but didnt venture out to far was 50 yards or so from shore was in 20 -40 ft of warter caught some browns on tip ups but it was a slow pivk thier were guys using a planl at the fish and game boat ramp now that crazy and they walked out past the point in the middle thats easy 70- 80 ft thier i know earlyer that season it was pleanty safe steve at labanon said it was a good 10-12 in they were getting alot of lakers in the deeper warter
